A little guidance.
A smoother start.
Watch the 67-second walkthrough, try the controls, then follow the steps in your own extension.
Preparing video for smooth seeking…
Animated walkthrough · AI-generated narration and quiet original music · Illustrates the workflow; it is not a live screen recording. Your installed theme and operating system may look different.
Install once. Connect when needed.
Download the GhostAI package and follow the installation guide. Open the Chrome extension from the extensions menu. For Google Docs typing, install and connect the desktop helper, enable Google Docs input in GhostAI Settings, and refresh the document. Standard browser text fields can use the extension directly.
The available full package is development source and requires Node.js 22+. Mac support is a developer preview. A Web Store draft does not update an installed extension.
Open installation instructions ↗Sign in and add your notes.
Open the extension Settings and sign in with your GhostAI email and password. Website and extension sign-in are separate. Under Notes and answers, add optional reference notes and a default instruction, then choose Save settings.
Choose the context you want to use.
From the Chrome extension popup, choose Open assistant. Highlight relevant text on the page and choose Selected text in the panel. You can also select Screen region to capture an approved screenshot area.
For the quick-answer route, select text and use Alt + Shift + Q. Screenshot capture uses Alt + Shift + C. Chrome or your operating system may reserve a shortcut; change it in Settings if needed.
Generate a draft. Make it yours.
In the panel, enter an instruction and choose Generate draft. Check the response for accuracy, tone and missing details, then edit it if needed. Choose Use draft to load the prepared text into the controller.
Quick-answer shortcuts can generate a response automatically using your saved instruction. Click the controller’s percentage to open and review it.
Put your cursor in place, then press Play.
Click the destination field and use the controller’s Play button. In Character mode, each eligible keypress advances one character of the prepared text. In Word mode, it advances one word. Keep the destination focused and check where the words are going.
Try a disposable document or normal text box first. Google Docs input needs the desktop helper and the Docs setting enabled.
Pause, review or restart.
Press Escape or the Pause button to stop assisted entry. Click the percentage to open the draft. Right-click it to open the menu, where you can choose Restart buffer, Hide and pause, or Close and clear.
Feel the controls.
This browser-only sample makes no AI requests and uses none of your monthly allowance. It writes only inside the practice box below.
Press Play, then press letter keys in the practice box. Escape pauses.
Restart preserves the entered text, just like resetting the draft buffer. Clear practice removes the text in this sample only.
When something needs a nudge.
My keyboard shortcut does nothing.
Open the extension on a regular webpage, check that power is on, and review Keyboard shortcuts in Settings. Chrome’s extension shortcuts can be changed through Set Chrome’s launch shortcut. On some keyboards, function keys require the Fn key.
I can’t type into Google Docs.
Connect the desktop helper, enable Google Docs input in Settings, and refresh the document. Confirm you have editing permission and click the writing area. Test with a disposable document. Compatibility depends on the installed helper and operating system.
My account says Free after a test payment.
That is expected on the live account page. Stripe test subscriptions are isolated from real Premium. Check your account’s live plan and monthly allowance before requesting AI output.
My monthly allowance is used up.
Use Load sample or your own draft to test the controls without generating. The account page shows when monthly usage resets. Opening the tutorial and practicing here does not use your AI allowance.
Can I trust every generated answer?
No. Review facts, names, numbers and wording. Use reliable sources where accuracy matters, and follow the rules of any school, workplace or service where you use AI assistance.
